samelnicomposer I’m running out of hope….I hate feeling like this.

Okay, history time everyone.
In the late 1800’s to early 1900’s, Japans government decided that they wanted to become an industrial power much like the western European countries and the US. They went out and got advisors from as many of these western powers as they could so they could learn how to change their culture in such a way to compete both economically and militarily.
Because of the government’s actions, Japan went from a country dependent on farming and whose military was dominated by samurai and the shogun to a fully realized industrial power with the capability to wage war on a global scale.
They pulled this entire cultural change off in less than 40 years, or about one full generation and they did it around the turn of the century.
Now, picture what we can accomplish today. Communication is far easier, technology is there ready to help, if Japan could change its entire cultural make up in one generation, ask yourself how much about our culture can we change in that same amount or time.
There is always hope because change is universal. You have to be sure it’s a change that you want to see.

Thank you Mike, I really needed to read this therelativelydispleasedhatter
